Responsibilities
Job Description: Manufacturing Engineer
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you'll be a key part of our team, responsible for developing the manufacturing work instructions that clearly define our fabrication, assembly, and integration processes. You'll ensure the quality, build sequence, and schedule for all hardware manufacturing, serving as a liaison between our design, test, and operations teams and our manufacturing customers.
You'll take ownership of the manufacturing process from start to finish. This includes reviewing engineering drawings, managing hardware configurations, and ensuring compliance with engineering requirements. You will also investigate the root causes of discrepancies, disposition non-conformance issues, and implement corrective and preventative actions. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and quality of our manufacturing operations, and you'll be instrumental in driving our "Design for Manufacture and Assembly" (DfMA) initiatives.

Responsibilities
- Develop clear and detailed manufacturing work instructions for fabrication, assembly, and integration processes.
- Manage hardware configuration, build sequence, schedule, and quality throughout the entire manufacturing process.
- Review and approve engineering drawings and assess their impact on manufacturing.
- Lead the investigation of root causes for non-conformance and resolve vehicle discrepancies.
- Design appropriate material handling and packaging solutions to protect hardware.
- Support the manufacturing floor with assembly, installation, and discrepancy resolution.
- Drive continuous improvement through Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) principles.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering (other relevant fields may apply).
- 3+ years of direct manufacturing and manufacturing engineering experience.
- Demonstrated ability in component fabrication, precision assembly, and testing.
- Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, and specifications.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with engineering software and computers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the aerospace or launch vehicle industry.
- Broad experience in various manufacturing processes such as welding, fabrication, assembly, and machining.
- General proficiency with CAD software.
- Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards.
