Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst with experience in the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance domain. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing insurance data to generate actionable insights that support business strategy, underwriting, claims, actuarial, and regulatory reporting functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze P&C insurance data related to policy, claims, underwriting, premiums, losses, and exposure.
  • Build reports and dashboards to track KPIs such as loss ratios, combined ratios, and claims severity/frequency.
  • Perform data cleansing, transformation, and validation using tools like SQL, Python, or Excel.
  • Collaborate with underwriters, actuaries, product managers, and IT teams to support business decision-making.
  • Prepare regulatory reports (e.g., NAIC, ISO, state filings) and assist in audit/compliance efforts.
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and insights from structured and unstructured data sources.
  • Create automated data pipelines for reporting using ETL tools or scripts.
  • Support predictive modeling efforts by preparing historical datasets and feature engineering.
  • Provide support in rating/pricing analysis, portfolio management, and reinsurance data needs.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Actuarial Science, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience as a data analyst in insurance or financial services, preferably in the P&C domain.
  • Strong command of SQL, Excel, Power BI/Tableau; Python or R is a plus.
  • Familiarity with insurance concepts: underwriting, claims, premium, policy lifecycle, loss development, reserving.
  • Experience working with core systems like Guidewire, Duck Creek, or legacy policy admin systems is a plus.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical specifications and deliver insights clearly.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, with an understanding of data governance and data quality best practices.
