Job Title: IT AV Break/Fix Engineer
Location: New York, NY - midtown Manhattan
Work schedule: 100% On-site
Start date: ASAP
End date: 6 months to start, with potential conversion
Job Description:
Position Summary:
The IT AV Break/Fix Engineer provides hands-on onsite support, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and operational continuity of corporate audiovisual systems across company's locations.
The role is responsible for rapid incident response, problem resolution, and preventative maintenance across executive boardrooms, trading floors, conference rooms, event spaces, and collaboration environments.
This role is highly visible and requires professionalism, technical proficiency, and customer-centric support with an ability to operate within a regulated financial-services environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Break/Fix Support
Diagnose and resolve AV hardware and software failures
Provide rapid onsite response to conference room outages
Troubleshoot AV endpoints, codecs, DSPs, cameras, mics, control systems
Remediate performance issues on AV networks or collaboration platforms
Audiovisual Technology Operations
Provide daily room readiness quality control checks
Maintain SLAs for repairs and technical escalations via Service Now
Support executive meetings and high-visibility events
Run validation tests following repairs
Collaboration Platforms
Hands-on break/fix support for:
Cisco Collaboration endpoints (Webex codecs, RoomOS, Desk, Board)
Microsoft Teams Room environments
Zoom Rooms
SIP/H.323 gateway environments
Cloud & on-prem integrations
Hardware Support
Cisco collaboration endpoints
Biamp, QSC, Extron, Crestron control
Shure, Sennheiser audio DSPs
PTZ cameras and video distribution
Displays, projection, switching, routing
Compliance & Enterprise Environments
Follow internal change management guidelines
Maintain detailed ticketing and worklog documentation
Support ITIL, ITSM, and regulated workflows
Observe cybersecurity and compliance requirements
Required Skills
5+ years professional AV engineering or break/fix support experience
Deep AV troubleshooting across codecs, control, audio, video
Familiarity with AV-over-IP architectures
Strong hands-on experience in executive environments
Preferred Qualifications & Certifications
Candidates with one or more of the following will be prioritized:
