Structural & Blast Engineering
Proven experience performing blast load calculations and dynamic structural analysis.
Hands-on experience with concrete and steel structural design under blast and seismic conditions.
Capable of developing structural drawings, specifications, and design documentation.
Familiar with Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), Whole Building Design Guide (WBDG), and DoD protective design standards.
Knowledge of foundation design and anchorage systems.
Experience coordinating with other disciplines civil, geotechnical, mechanical, electrical, etc.
Tools & Software
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, VISIO, and standard engineering tools.
Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) and blast modeling tools (e.g., SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, LS-DYNA, ANSYS, or similar).
Ability to produce and review structural design packages and calculations for configuration control.
Experience preparing or reviewing specifications (CSI Masterformat or SpecsIntact).
Preferred Experience
Master s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the U.S.
Prior experience in Department of Defense, nuclear, or federal infrastructure projects.
Experience designing seismic bracing and supports.
Familiarity with quality assurance programs such as ASME-NQA-1, MIL-Q-9858A, or ISO-9000.
Previous work with EPC firms (e.g., Bechtel, Fluor, AECOM, Jacobs, etc.).
Skill:
Strong communication and documentation skills (written and verbal).
Highly detail-oriented and able to manage design packages within quality and schedule constraints.
Collaborative team player who can work across multiple engineering disciplines.
Comfortable working on secure, classified, or defense-related projects.
Strong commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
