Role: Technical Writer

Location:           Boston, MA (100% onsite)

Hiring Mode:    Contract Long Term

 

 

Client Note - We are particularly looking for candidates with an engineering background and experience in SEMI, MECH, or any hardware documentation. While MS Word is the primary tool used for this requirement, it would be beneficial if the candidate also has knowledge of Adobe FrameMaker and OxygenXML.

 

Job Description-


Requirements:

  • Excellent English language communication and writing skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with 5 to 9 years of technical writing experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of Document Development Life Cycle (DDLC), structured authoring, content reuse, and single-sourcing.
  • Proficiency in content authoring, publishing, and governance tools such as MS WORD, DITA-XML, OxygenXML Editor, Adobe FrameMaker, CCMS (Ixiasoft), Fluid Topics (Content Delivery Platform), SnagIt, Acrobat Pro, and ServiceNow helpdesk.
  • Flexibility to adjust work times to collaborate with remote and local teams.
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders across various geographies, conduct online meetings in different time zones, and work comfortably with team members from diverse cultures.
  • Capability to track tasks, actions, and provide regular updates.
  • Competence in creating and maintaining tasks and documentation trackers.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and update technical documentation for end users and service engineers, including User's Manuals, Upgrade Procedures, Service Procedures, Site Prep, and Safety Manuals.
  • Conduct SME interviews with various users and technical/engineering/product staff to gather data for complex documentation for hardware applications.
  • Interface with functional organizations to develop content for procedures.
  • Create, develop, and edit operational, instructional, or maintenance procedures for software applications.
  • Adhere to documentation best practices, formats, and templates, ensuring output conforms to company documentation and quality assurance standards.
  • Support testing and validation of new procedures and methods.
  • Engage stakeholder rs from various departments to assess and update documentation needs.
  • Monitor content quality, implement editorial suggestions, and make technical changes independently.
