RF Systems Technician

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Systems Technician to support and maintain mission-critical RF and IT-based communication systems. This role involves hands-on work with advanced digital and analog communication infrastructure, including RF networks, microwave systems, and virtualized IT environments. You'll be on the front lines ensuring performance, reliability, and uptime for cutting-edge systems used in high-stakes environments.

• Provide on-site and remote technical support for RF and IT-based communication systems.
• Conduct routine maintenance and performance optimization for:
  
  
  
  
  • Analog and Digital (P25) Radio Systems
  • Microwave Backhaul Infrastructure
  • Virtualized IT Environments (VMware, Cisco Networking)
  
  
• Perform system provisioning, network troubleshooting, and fault analysis using diagnostic tools (e.g., Wireshark, IP Analyzers, Antenna Analyzers).
• Collect and interpret system data such as antenna power levels, IP traffic logs, and cable sweep results.
• Accurately document maintenance, configuration changes, and incident reports.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule (every 2-3 weeks) and respond to service requests during and outside normal business hours. Night travel may be required during on-call weeks.
• Travel regionally (approx. 15%) with overnight stays as needed.

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in RF Systems, LMR, or IT Infrastructure support.
• Knowledge of or experience with:
  
  
  
  
  • RF Transmission Systems: Transmitters, Receivers, Antennas
  • Networking: TCP/IP, Cisco CLI, Active Directory, Red Hat Linux
  • Virtual Environments: VMware
  • Diagnostic Tools: Spectrum Analyzers, T1 Test Sets, Wireshark, etc.
  
  
• Proficiency with remote access protocols (SSH, FTP, Telnet) and command-line interfaces.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. regularly and work in field-based settings, including remote locations.
• Valid U.S. Driver's License; capable of passing a driving test and driving daily to customer sites.
