Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Software Developer with deep experience of building mobile applications and supervising software development projects. The work supports a multi-year project to sustain and develop training courses for a defense customer.

Duties:

Mobile Application Development

  • Lead projects to conceive, design, develop, test and deliver mobile applications in support of customer requirements, including implementation of secure coding practices and a CI/CD pipeline.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, instructional designers, graphic artists, modeling/simulation staff, and marketing professionals to ensure mobile applications fulfill the customer s requirements for target audiences of all ages including those with hearing, visual, and physical disabilities.
  • Ensure applications meet the customer s standards, which include specifications for SCORM compliance and Section 508 accessibility.

Project Leadership:

  • Serve under a Project Manager and provide leadership for all software development projects initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Coordinate with the customer as necessary to ensure seamless communication and delivery.
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members, contributing substantially to their growth and professional development.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

 

Education:

 

  • Master s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field. Bachelor s degree and eight (8) years of experience

 

Required Skills:

  • Twelve (12) years of relevant work experience or a Bachelor s degree and eight (8) years of experience may be substituted for the Master's degree requirement.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years developing and maintaining mobile device applications.
  • Demonstrable experience building applications that use immersive technologies (AR/VR) top support training is a significant plus.
  • Experience and expertise developing immersive 3D simulations using tools such as Unity or Unreal gaming engines or similar software.
  • Proficient in Python, Java, .NET, JavaScript, HTML5 or similar.
  • Experience with cloud-native architectures, REST APIs, xAPI, and database development, especially in support of software supporting training and education.
  • Familiar with programming to support Learning Management Systems.
  • Familiar with DoD STIGs, FedRAMP, and security compliance standards.

 

 

Preferred Skills:

 

  • Prior experience supporting DoD or federal projects is strongly preferred.
