Job Title: Financial Analyst
Location: Englewood, CO 80112
Duration: 6 months of contract with a possible extension
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to support the Program Accounting Department through accurate financial reporting, accruals, reconciliations, and data-driven financial analysis. This role is responsible for preparing monthly network payments and accruals, analyzing large datasets, supporting financial close processes, and driving operational efficiencies. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and able to manage workload independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and reconcile monthly network payments and accruals, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial statements.
- Analyze, review, and manipulate large data sets using database and querying tools to calculate payments, accruals, and generate financial analytics and reports.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries.
- Track and analyze key financial and operational metrics to identify risks, opportunities, and process improvement initiatives.
- Assist in the development of financial models, budgets, and forecasts as directed by management.
- Research and explain variances to budget and forecast using detailed operational and financial metrics.
- Prepare, review, and distribute weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports to internal stakeholders.
- Analyze monthly invoices and subscriber reporting, researching and resolving discrepancies or potential misstatements.
- Assist with process improvement and standardization initiatives, identifying risk areas and recommending efficiency enhancements.
- Review and analyze network audits, supporting research, tracking, and streamlined audit processes.
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting projects as assigned.
- Exercise independent judgment in matters of financial significance.
- Maintain regular, consistent attendance and support variable schedules, including nights or weekends when required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, MIS, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5 8 years of relevant experience in industry accounting, public accounting, or a similar financial environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage and interpret large, complex data sets.
- Experience with financial close processes, accruals, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Technical Skills
- Oracle and Essbase (strong proficiency required)
- Database and querying tools such as SQL, Teradata, Microsoft Visual Studio
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, along with Word and Outlook
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting program accounting or network-based financial models
- Proven ability to drive process improvements and cost efficiencies
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
