The Core Infrastructure Assurance team is chartered with providing security assurance services to Microsoft's enterprise to help effectively identify and mitigate security risks in its infrastructure. We are a high-energy, highly collaborative team working with engineers across the company. We are looking for a Senior Security Infrastructure Assurance Engineer.

Do you have a passion for security infrastructure and architecture, while getting excited about impacting some of the largest and most complex security challenges Microsoft faces in the enterprise infrastructure space? The successful candidate for this role will work across teams and service lines to execute on our strategy for providing end to end security assurance for MS CISO. As a Senior Security Assurance Engineer, you will be expected to contribute to performing infrastructure design reviews as well as helping manage the business and alignment with compliance requirements.

Responsibilities:

Provide security infrastructure subject matter expertise and conduct design reviews.

Build and maintain positive relationships with partner teams, creating opportunities to contribute to the success of others or leverage their efforts to achieve internal goals.

Support incident response teams as a subject matter expert on infrastructure security.

Work with other security assurance and security teams across Microsoft to ensure a One Microsoft approach wherever possible for at-scale security assurance.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Risk Management, Cyber Security, or related field AND 3+ years experience in software development lifecycle, large scale computing, threat modeling, cyber security, or anomaly detection
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Risk Management, Cyber Security, or related field AND 4+ years experience in software development lifecycle, large scale computing, threat modeling, cyber security, or anomaly detection OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in infrastructure security assessment programs.
  • 2+ years of experience in program management.
Other RequirementsAbility to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Risk Management, Cyber Security, or related field AND 6+ years experience in software development lifecycle, large scale computing, threat modeling, cyber security, or anomaly detection (enterprise experience)
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Risk Management, Cyber Security, or related field AND 8+ years experience in software development lifecycle, large scale computing, threat modeling, cyber security, or anomaly detection (enterprise experience) OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years' experience in cloud security / networking and infrastructure
  • Detailed knowledge of information security and risk management processes and controls including security operations, security architecture, security assessments, security engineering, risk management and compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience working on large complex enterprise systems
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Motivated and collaborative
  • Desire to innovate, grow, and learn as the industry continually evolves
  • Experience with cross group collaboration and to influence senior leaders across the company is critical.
Security Assurance IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
