Azure Systems Engineer (Hybrid) - NO C2C

We re seeking a highly skilled and motivated Infrastructure Systems Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. This role requires strong technical expertise across data center technologies, virtualization, networking, storage, and cloud infrastructure. You ll play a critical role in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of both on-premises and cloud environments, while also supporting internally developed applications that power our business.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive support for infrastructure systems, including Windows/Linux servers, virtualization platforms, SAN/storage, and Active Directory.
• Manage and optimize hybrid environments across on-premises infrastructure and Microsoft Azure, ensuring scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
• Use Azure DevOps and Terraform to implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC), improving automation and deployment pipelines.
• Maintain and support enterprise networking infrastructure routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, telephony systems to ensure reliable connectivity and data security.
• Lead and manage multiple IT projects concurrently, balancing shifting priorities while meeting deadlines and strategic objectives.
• Provide operational support and performance tuning for internally developed applications, ensuring high reliability across all business units.
• Respond to outages, conduct root cause analyses, and implement long-term fixes to enhance overall system resilience.
• Collaborate across departments to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and propose innovative solutions.
• Document processes, configurations, and best practices to support team knowledge sharing and operational continuity.
• Participate in strategic planning for infrastructure upgrades and technology improvements.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in:
• Virtualized server environments
• Enterprise storage systems
• Networking and firewall administration
• Cloud platforms (especially Microsoft Azure)
• Microsoft directory services
• Application infrastructure and support

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Proficiency with Microsoft Azure, including administration, cost optimization, and resource management.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform and scripting (PowerShell, Bash) for automation and IaC practices.
• Familiarity with IIS and JBoss for enterprise application hosting and deployment.
• Deep technical knowledge of system and network administration, including backup/recovery, monitoring, and performance tuning.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills with the ability to translate technical language for a wide range of audiences.
• A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively across teams in a hybrid work environment.
• Highly organized, self-motivated, and adaptable in a fast-paced, evolving technology landscape.
