Job Details

Title: Technology Platform Owner

Location: Houston TX

Duration: Long-term Contract

Position: Hybrid (Must 3 days onsite/2 days remote)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partners with CIO and IT VPs to understand IT priorities and translate to Tech Platform strategy
  • Translates IT strategies to Tech Platform roadmap; set the prioritization of what work to do when
  • Develops and manages the budget for Tech Platform investments
  • Owns end-to-end execution of the Tech Platform roadmap
  • Manages product teams within the Tech  Platform, serving as the single point of contact for the Tech Platform
  • Manages and prioritizes new Tech Platform demands – coordinating closely with business Technology Partners to understand foundational IT needs, especially regarding reusable components and capabilities (e.g, APIs)

Technical skills

  • Significant experience developing, enhancing, maintaining tools and applications within CNP or broader Utilities/Energy industry
  • Deep understanding & expertise of cloud native platforms and tooling
  • Expertise in enterprise architecture and ability to define and execute technical strategy across the enterprise
  • Experienced in new ways of working (including agile processes, cross-functional teaming, customer-focus)
  • Experienced with product development approach & continuous delivery practices

Business and financial acumen

  • Understands value drivers for CNP and practices to follow to capture that value – especially the role of technology in accelerating or enabling these value drivers
  • Able to develop and track tier 1, 2, and 3 KPIs that measure the value created and delivered from technology investments
  • Versed in budgeting process, business cases, financial management
  • Proactively looks for and implements ways to contain costs, where appropriate
  • Knowledgeable on how to drive efficiency using technology

Leadership, people, and teaming skills

  • Strategic and forward looking; innovative mindset; challenges pre-set assumptions and "the way it has always been done"
  • Results-oriented; holds self and others accountable for results 
  • Effective in coordinating and collaborating across departments (business & IT)
