Job Title: Back End Java Engineer

Job Description:
We are seeking a Back End Java Engineer for a 6-month contract opportunity with our client, Fidelity, in Atlanta, GA (Hybrid role). The ideal candidate is a passionate backend developer with hands-on experience building secure, scalable cloud-native applications in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead backend development initiatives from architecture and design through to deployment and support
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
- Ensure code quality through unit testing, code reviews, and adherence to best practices
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using DevOps practices
- Drive continuous improvement in performance, reliability, and scalability of systems
Required Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Java or equivalent modern backend programming language
- Hands-on experience with Git and version control best practices
- Solid understanding and implementation experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Proven track record of leading projects from design through production deployment
- Deep expertise in at least one domain relevant to cloud-based platforms (e.g., fintech, distributed systems, security, or databases)
