Position Overview:
HHSC Information Technology is seeking two experienced Systems Analyst II professionals to support the migration of its Integrated Resident Information System (IRIS) comprising Cerner Millennium, Dentrix, CareTracker, and RLDatix to a new SaaS-based solution. The selected candidates will lead technical planning, data migration, workflow integration, testing, documentation, and stakeholder engagement across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Key Responsibilities
1. Data Migration & System Integration (40%)
HHSC Information Technology is seeking two experienced Systems Analyst II professionals to support the migration of its Integrated Resident Information System (IRIS) comprising Cerner Millennium, Dentrix, CareTracker, and RLDatix to a new SaaS-based solution. The selected candidates will lead technical planning, data migration, workflow integration, testing, documentation, and stakeholder engagement across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Key Responsibilities
1. Data Migration & System Integration (40%)
- Plan and execute the migration of healthcare data from legacy EHR systems to a SaaS platform.
- Conduct data assessment, cleansing, transformation, and mapping for compatibility.
- Collaborate with clinical and technical teams to design and implement new workflows.
- Ensure solution design complies with HHSC IT standards.
- Develop and implement data validation and auditing processes to maintain integrity.
- Create and execute unit and system test scripts.
- Manage test scenarios, analyze results, and debug issues using formal QA methods.
- Provide regular status updates to stakeholders using project tracking tools.
- Prepare and present detailed documentation and process walkthroughs to internal and external teams.
- Train end-users and support onboarding to the new system.
- Provide performance optimization strategies based on metrics and user feedback.
Minimum 7 years of experience in:
- Healthcare EHR systems data migration (e.g., Cerner Millennium).
- Database scripting using Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or similar.
- Data analysis & business process documentation.
- Preparing data input/output specifications and technical documentation.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting complex data or system issues.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder expectations.
- IT architecture and infrastructure understanding, including system integration principles.
- Experience with cloud-based/SaaS EHR migrations.
- Knowledge of Texas DIR Project Delivery Framework and use of its templates.
- Familiarity with data security and regulatory compliance in healthcare environments.
- Understanding of modern software architecture, including local and cloud integrations.
