Description
Our financial services client is seeking one Senior and one Intermediate AML Investigator to join its Compliance team on a contract basis. These roles are critical in helping the organization address a backlog of transaction monitoring cases dating back to 2021. The cases are generally low complexity, but require thorough review and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Review and analyze transaction monitoring alerts and cases, primarily related to retail and investment transactions.
Conduct investigations and escalate suspicious activity as appropriate.
Prepare and file Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) in accordance with FINTRAC and other regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather supporting documentation and context for flagged transactions.
Ensure all case work is completed accurately and within established timelines.
Maintain detailed records of investigations and decisions for audit and regulatory review.
Support ongoing enhancements to AML processes and systems as needed.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Senior AML Analyst
5+ years of experience in AML compliance, preferably in financial services or investment management.
Proven experience in STR filing, transaction monitoring, and case investigations.
Strong understanding of Canadian AML regulations and FINTRAC guidelines.
Ability to manage complex cases and mentor junior analysts.
Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
Intermediate AML Analyst
2-4 years of experience in AML or compliance roles.
Hands-on experience with transaction monitoring systems and alert reviews.
Exposure to STR filing processes and regulatory reporting.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Eagerness to learn and grow within the AML space.
