I'm working with a top-tier client seeking a Product Manager to join their Security team on a contract basis. This is a remote US-based role.

Product Manager (PM) - Portfolio and Strategy Role
Primary Focus:
- The PM is responsible for the broader product vision, strategy, and cross-team alignment.
- They ensure cybersecurity initiatives connect to business goals and regulatory needs, while also coordinating with multiple teams and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and maintain the roadmap for cybersecurity product areas (e.g., cyber defense protection, cyber defense response).
- Partner with executives, GRC teams, and engineering productivity teams to prioritize initiatives at the portfolio level.
- Translate business objectives (e.g., regulatory compliance, risk reduction, modernization goals) into product strategy.
- Make strategic trade-off decisions: which portfolio initiatives move forward, which are delayed, and how resources are allocated.
- Collaborate with multiple POs to ensure their backlogs align with the broader strategy.
- Manage cross-functional dependencies across infrastructure, security, governance, and engineering productivity.
- Anticipate risks and opportunities 2-3 steps ahead, beyond immediate sprint cycles.
Typical Cybersecurity Examples:
- Leading the initiative to decommission legacy AS400 systems and replace them with SaaS, ensuring alignment with security requirements.
- Partnering with GRC to drive vulnerability remediation initiatives across portfolios.
- Deciding when to invest more in proactive threat defense vs. reactive incident response capabilities.
- Working with Engineering Productivity to advance security-as-code practices across teams.
