Workplace Classification:
Hybrid : This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to their primary work location (Austin Innovation Center) three times per week, at minimum, or other frequency dictated by the business.
The Role:
Manufacturing (MFG) IT Senior System Analysts are responsible for driving technical transformation across GM's critical manufacturing applications. With a robust suite of applications powering our manufacturing processes, we need analysts who can quickly learn a new domain, its application landscape, business challenges, and propose improved and efficient solutions that meet the latest IT standards. Building vehicles is at the core of GM's business and this person will have an opportunity to be a part of bringing our plants into the future we're all striving for.
The ideal candidate will be able to translate business needs and requirements into future-forward system designs and detailed requirements. This candidate is adept enough to participate in technical design discussions as well as high-level business meetings.
We are looking for highly motivated individuals who can work individually as well as within a team. You will be hands-on, directly responsible for collecting data, observing/documenting workflows, and monitoring system activity to identify vulnerabilities and areas of improvement. The intent of this role is to supplement development teams to help refine, support, and transform new and existing applications. In addition, you will be expected to promote and foster a team culture of collaboration, agile thinking and practices and valuing quality that meets/exceeds the industry's best practices.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
- Identify, document, and communicate system and process changes necessary to improve system and operational performance measures
- Identify, investigate, resolve, and escalate problems as needed
- May serve as subject matter expert related to interface problem identification, triage, and resolution of complex inquiries
- Work with Innovation, ITOC, deployment and other IT support teams in managing production issues and problem tasks effectively

Additional Job Description
What You'll Need (Required Qualifications):
- At least 5 years experience with IT software applications, requirements definition, process definition, testing, and IT Strategy and roadmap development
- Ability to take highly technical discussions to the appropriate level to foster proper understanding to drive decisions and forward progress
- Experience delivering solutions in a regulated environment with internal and external standards (SOX, Internal controls, various country related legal requirements)
- Experience conducting data gathering and analysis to understand business strategy requirements, solution design presentations, business facing experience
- Display innovation in identifying, proposing, and overseeing the execution of business solutions

- Experience with manufacturing in-plant IT software systems
- Experience with utilizing reporting technologies including Power BI, Kibana
- Experience with UI/UX prototyping tools including Balsamiq, Invision and Axure
- Experience with different databases including Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres and S3
- Experience in decomposing monolith systems into logical domain services
- Experience with the containerization technologies like Dockers, and Private Cloud env like PCF and Kubernetes
- High level of understanding with key technologies including JAVA, Database, UNIX/LINUX
- Experience with source control software (ADO, SVN, Git or TFS), CI/CD Technologies/ Best Practices (Artifactory, Black Duck, Chef, CARA, SonarQube and Jenkins, Build pipelines, GitFlow, etc.)
