Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Database Engineer to join our National Intelligence Program to support d esign, construction, installation, testing, and maintenance of highly scalable data management systems, optimized for O&M operations. This role requires a blend of expertise in software , hardware, and cloud engineering to ensur e efficient data handling, storage, and analysis to drive improvements and informed decision-making within the O&M department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain robust databases and data warehouses, ensuring high availability and performance.


  • Develop and manage systems for ingesting data from various sources, such as IoT devices, logs, and operational systems.

  • Implement and maintain data pipelines for batch and streaming data, using tools like Airflow or NiFi.

  • Monitor, tune, and scale data storage and processing environments for optimal efficiency.

  • Apply industry best practices and compliance policy of customer to safeguard sensitive O&M data and maintain compliance with relevant regulations.

  • Provide expert-level troubleshooting support for data-related technical issues within O&M operations.

  • Collaborate with O&M engineers, data analysts, and enterprise service providers to interpret data requirements and deliver appropriate solutions.

  • Utilize data mining techniques for data analysis and produce insightful reports to aid in O&M decision-making and planning.

  • Keep clear and comprehensive documentation and records of system configurations, data models, and process flows.

  • Develop tools that improve and automate data handling and processing activities.

  • Align all data management strategies with regulatory compliance and standard adherence of the enterprise.


Qualifications
  • Possess an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Information Technology, or equivalent experience, coupled with relevant professional certifications .

  • Advanced SQL knowledge for database querying.

  • Proficiency with big data tools (Hadoop, Spark) and familiarity with big data file formats (Parquet, Avro).

  • Skilled in data pipeline and workflow management tools (Apache Airflow, NiFi).

  • Strong background in programming (Python, Scala, Java) for data pipeline and algorithm development.

  • Skilled in data visualization (Tableau, Power BI) and BI reporting.


  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and services.

  • Understanding of DevOps, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation).

  • Knowledge of data governance, compliance, and security practices.

  • Competence in version control (Git) and lean Agile practices using Jira.


Desired

  • Certifications related to big data and cloud services (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics).

  • Practical experience applying machine learning models in a production environment.
