Job Title : Electrical Engineer III

Job Duties : Toyota Material Handling Inc. seeks an Electrical Engineer III in Columbus, IN to design and develop new electric forklift / vehicle systems and their components. Interpret product requirements to develop functional specifications and system requirements. Select motor drivers, controllers, sensors, and other electrical components that meet system requirements. Conduct feasibility studies on new features and technology. Author specifications documentation, DFMEA, DVP&R, test plans, product manuals and other technical documents. Calibrate system functions and performance using prototype vehicles. Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software components. Maintain and execute detailed schedules. Manage bill of material (BOM) and report component costs. Participate in wire harness design reviews to ensure hardware compatibility with system design and layout. Find new components and technologies to implement and develop current products. Telecommuting permitted 2 days per week. Annual salary: $120,328 to $135,975.

Minimum Requirements : Requires a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field plus 1 year (or Bachelor's degree and 5 progressive years) of systems engineering experience in the following: 1. Diagnostic or design experience in automotive or material handling; 2. CAN Vehicle communication network systems; 3. Hardware and embedded system design and development; 4. Designing system diagrams; 5. Creating system specifications, test instructions, and DFMEA; 6. Data acquisition and analysis; and 7. Hardware with test data analysis. Experience may be gained before, during or after Master's degree. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience.
