JOB SUMMARY

Primary Purpose of Position

The Technology Product Management organization leads the design, development, and lifecycle management of products — from initial concept and planning through production, release, and retirement. Focused on both strategy and execution, the team oversees every phase of the product lifecycle for new, existing, and acquired technologies.

By leveraging market insights, customer feedback, and emerging technology trends, the organization identifies opportunities for innovation and continuously refines product offerings. Team members combine deep technical expertise with business acumen to align products with market needs and organizational goals.

Accountable to OptumServe’s business line P&L owners, the organization ensures that each product delivers strong performance and competitive value. It also manages cross-functional collaboration across design, engineering, scrum, and business leadership teams to drive cohesive product success.

Essential Functions

  • Supports capabilities under a product area 
  • Understands the “what & why” of user stories, their relationship to features, and how each may
    impact the user
  • Demonstrates empathy for the customer journey; understands applicable personas
  • Understands and effectively partners with users, business, technology, and product teams to
    delight consumers
  • Identifies and appropriately leverages SMEs 
  • Partners with product managers/owners to prioritize work to meet obligations and opportunities 
  • Understands overall product strategy and roadmap 
  • Understands the demand, priorities, and scrum team capacity 
  • Ensures user stories are directly tied to OKRs 
  • Decomposes capabilities into manageable features/stories; partners with engineering teams on
    the creation of requirements and user stories; collaborates with Business Partners to gather any
    information required for user story creation 
  • Effectively balances needs of operations and technical teams 
  • Can articulate to partners an understanding of core technology enabling business functions 
  • Supports backlog prioritization 
  • Builds relationships to be a trusted partner 
  • Attends trainings to further advance knowledge 
  • Operates in an ambiguous and dynamic environment and adopts a growth mindset

Job Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED equivalent 
  • Experience leveraging AI tools in the product lifecycle in order to improve quality and efficiency.
  • 3+ years of experience in product management or technology delivery roles 
  • 3+ years of experience working in an agile or scaled agile development environment 
  • 3+ years of experience in analyzing customer needs, customer engagement, and product
    performance 
  • 1+ years of experience executing work across matrixed product teams
  • U.S. Citizen

Preferences:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience 
  • 4+ years of experience in a product management or technology delivery role working alongside
    engineers
  • 4+ years of experience working in an agile or scaled agile development environment
  • 4+ years of experience in analyzing customer needs, customer engagement and product
    performance
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner  
  • LESS certification  
  • Ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical and non-technical
    audiences  
  • Ability to represent 'the voice of the customer' in technical discussions with architecture and
    engineering 
  • Experience with application development and software integrations 
  • Solid research and problem-solving skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve goals in a matrix environment 
  • Experience in Healthcare 
  • Experience working with state or federal government clients, including the bidding and
    implementation process
