RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a DevOps Engineer in Greenwood Village, CO.
Summary:
We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a growing team focused on driving a large-scale migration from on-premise systems to AWS and eventually to a multi-cloud environment. This is a lead-level role requiring strong technical expertise, leadership ability, and a strategic mindset. You will play a key role in architecting solutions, mentoring junior team members, and contributing to the design and automation of scalable, secure cloud infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the design and implementation of cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles (Terraform or CloudFormation)
* Develop and maintain Python scripts for automation, orchestration, and deployment
* Provide architectural guidance and technical leadership on DevOps best practices
* Mentor and train junior engineers, fostering skill development and team growth
* Support and evolve CI/CD pipelines and observability tooling (Datadog, Grafana)
* Architect and maintain multi-account and multi-tenant AWS environments, including complex networking models (hub-and-spoke, hive/swarm deployments)
* Ensure security and compliance across cloud infrastructure using IAM policies and best practices
* Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, security, and operations teams to support enterprise cloud adoption
REQUIREMENTS:
* 7+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps or cloud infrastructure roles
* Strong proficiency in Terraform (or CloudFormation) and Python scripting
* Deep experience with AWS, including multi-account setups and IAM configuration
* Working knowledge of Kubernetes, especially EKS
* Solid understanding of networking, security, and cloud provisioning
* Experience leading projects and mentoring junior engineers
* Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Grafana, Datadog)
Nice-to-Have Skills:
* Experience with OpenSearch or Elasticsearch
* Exposure to Azure or Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform)
* Experience with centralized data lake accounts and cloud networking architectures
* Familiarity with hub-and-spoke, hive/swarm, or other multi-account deployment models
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
