Our Strategic Finance team provides comprehensive financial insight into the business through regional and functional business partnering, forecasting and budgets, and pricing and incentives.
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join our Platform Engineering Finance team! Our team partners with the engineering and product teams as part of Uber's focus to build a world-class Platform team that supports external customer in-app experiences while providing internal customers with industry leading resources and tools. The ideal candidate will have history working closely with engineers, product managers, and finance to identify process inefficiencies, build recommendations, and drive operational efficiency!
What You'll Do
- Data-Driven Problem Solving - You will perform deep-dive analysis to unpack insights & recommend solutions to top-of-mind problems the business is facing; then take your recommendations and work cross-functionally with Engineering and Product teams from across Uber to implement.
- Business Insight & Analytics - You will guide our thinking on key components of our overall cost savings opportunity strategy. Create and implement various analytics projects to inform operating cost structure strategy with company leadership; including the development of reports, dashboards, and scripts/automations using the likes of Google Suite, SQL, Tableau, and Python.
- Partner Management - Collaborate with accounting and product finance to identify process inefficiencies, build recommendations, and drive operational efficiency.
- Project Management - Identify, plan, and implement projects and root cause analyses to improve our existing processes for account management and customer programs.
Basic Qualifications
- 4+ years of work experience in finance analytics, business analytics, data analytics and/or within a similar field
- Experience with Tableau and/or similar data visualization tools
- Experience with SQL
- Bachelors Degree
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degrees in Math, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research, Machine Learning or other quantitative field
- Ability and experience in extracting insights from data, and summarizing findings/takeaways
- Strong storytelling: distill exciting and hard-to-find insights into a compelling, concise data story
- Ability to communicate effectively and manage relationships with partners coming from both technical and non-technical backgrounds
- Strong judgment, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills
- Ability to solve complex business problems that cross multiple product/project areas and teams
- Balance attention to detail with swift execution
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$135,000 per year - USD$150,000 per year.
