Job Title: Sr Java Backend Developer
Location: Remote
Duration: 12+ Months (Possible Extension)

Contract-W2
Preference: Former Capital One resources strongly preferred

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Senior Java Backend Developer to join our engineering team. This is a hands-on development role focused on building and maintaining backend systems using modern Java technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Spring Framework, REST APIs, DevOps pipelines, and AWS. This is a long-term remote opportunity offering involvement in impactful enterprise-level systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring.

Build and consume RESTful APIs for enterprise applications.

Work closely with DevOps to implement CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.

Leverage AWS services for cloud-native development and deployments.

Work with both RDBMS and NoSQL data stores.

Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and production support as needed.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum 4+ years of hands-on Java development experience.

Strong proficiency in Java, Spring (Boot/Cloud), REST APIs.

Solid experience with DevOps tools and CI/CD processes.

AWS hands-on experience required.

Experience working with RDBMS and NoSQL databases.

Nice to Have:

Experience with Kafka or other event streaming platforms.

Familiarity with Docker and containerization practices.
