Akkodis is seeking a Platform Architect for a Contract job with a client in Austin, TX(Hybrid). You'll design cloud-native data architectures and build scalable pipelines while ensuring performance, security, and compliance across batch and streaming environments.
Rate Range: $53/hour to $56/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Platform Architect job responsibilities include:
- Lead the end-to-end migration of data systems from HDFS to cloud platforms, ensuring scalability, performance, and minimal disruption.
- Design and implement cloud-native data architectures optimized for both batch and real-time stream processing using Apache Spark and Flink.
- Develop and maintain high-performance data pipelines using Scala and advanced SQL for complex transformations.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, DevOps, and data teams to align solutions with enterprise architecture and cloud best practices.
- Define and enforce data governance, security, and compliance standards, including GDPR and CCPA requirements.
- Troubleshoot and optimize data workflows, addressing performance bottlenecks and ensuring reliability in cloud environments.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 7 years in data engineering, big data architecture, or cloud data platform roles.
- Proven experience migrating large-scale data systems from HDFS to cloud platforms using Apache Spark, Flink, and Scala.
- Strong understanding of cloud-native data architecture, data governance, and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), with hands-on experience in performance optimization and CI/CD practices.
