Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, configuring, programming, and testing mainframe applications and technical architecture components. This role involves fixing defects, improving performance, and ensuring service commitments are met. The Mainframe Developer will also participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers.
Technical Skills:
* 8+Years of experience in mainframe programming languages such as COBOL, JCL, and CICS.
* Experience with C on mainframe is a must
* Experience in C++ with Windows is a must
* Should be familiar with rules mining and deep analysis with knowledge of UPS billing systems a plus.
* Experience with databases like DB2.
Knowledge of mainframe tools and utilities.
Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
Familiarity with performance tuning and optimization techniques.
Responsibilities:
* Detailed Design: Perform detailed design of application and technical architecture components.
* Configuration and Programming: Configure, program, and test the application or technical architecture component.
* Defect Fixing: Identify and fix defects and performance problems.
* Service Commitments: Be accountable for service commitments at the individual request level for in-scope applications.
* Code Reviews: Participate in code reviews and collaborate with other developers, designers, and architects to ensure requirements are met.
* Mentoring: Mentor junior developers and provide guidance on best practices and development techniques.
