Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Research Associate I- Mammalian Cell Line Banking for a contract assignment with one of our premier Pharmaceutical services clients in South San Francisco, CA.

Responsibilities :
  • Seeking a highly motivated Research Associate I to support the centralized cell banking and distribution team for Research and Early Development at the firm. Our mission consists in expanding, banking, performing QC, characterizing and distributing cell lines and advanced cell models, including organoids and iPSCs, for our research colleagues. The ideal candidate will have experience in culturing a variety of cell lines. Having in-depth experience with molecular and biochemical techniques is required. The candidate will be expected to frequently interact and communicate with other groups as part of a diverse and multidisciplinary team.
Required Skills:
  • BS/MS in life sciences
  • Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture for 2 years or more
  • Adept with PCR, biochemical assays, DNA & RNA extraction
  • Familiar with LIMS and proficient with database maintenance
Preferred Skills:
  • Knowledge of iPSC & organoid propagation, cell engineering, FACs, IF staining, automation for liquid and cell handling is highly desirable.
  • Aseptic technique for culturing mammalian cell lines
  • Knowledge in scaling mammalian cell lines for banking & cryopreservation
  • Managing inventory of a biobank
  • Performing QCs (PCR, biochemical assays & FACS)
  • DNA fingerprinting
  • DNA and RNA extractions for baseline characterization
