Overview
We are seeking an experienced Workday Payroll Consultant to lead the implementation, optimization, and support of Workday Payroll solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong functional expertise, hands-on configuration experience, and the ability to partner with HR, Finance, and IT stakeholders to deliver high-quality payroll solutions that ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end Workday Payroll implementation and enhancement projects, including requirements gathering, design, configuration, testing, and go-live.
Configure and maintain Workday Payroll, including earnings, deductions, taxes, pay groups, payroll calendars, and settlement processes.
Support Workday integrations related to payroll, including third-party vendors (benefits, time-tracking, financial systems).
Manage year-end payroll activities, tax updates, testing, and compliance requirements.
Analyze payroll issues, troubleshoot discrepancies, and provide scalable solutions.
Partner with business stakeholders to translate payroll requirements into functional configurations.
Assist with Workday Releases, regression testing, and adoption of new features.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
Prepare documentation, job aids, test scripts, and SOPs for payroll processes.
Provide training and coaching to HR/payroll teams on Workday functionality.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of experience as a Workday Payroll Consultant or Workday Payroll Analyst.
Hands-on experience configuring and supporting Workday Payroll in a production environment.
Strong understanding of US payroll regulations, tax compliance, and payroll processing cycles.
Experience with Workday Time Tracking, Absence, or Integrations (preferred).
Ability to perform complex payroll calculations, audits, and testing.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Workday certification in Payroll (nice to have but not always required).
