Job Title: Technical Support Engineer
Location: Madison, Wisconsin Area - Travel
Type: Contract (Long Term, Open-Ended)
Duration: Through June 30, 2026 + Extensions Yearly
Overview
We are seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join a team responsible for maintaining and supporting the computer and network infrastructure for a large enterprise environment. This role involves extensive travel throughout Wisconsin and requires strong technical skills combined with excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain computer hardware and software across multiple locations.
- Provide technical support and resolve issues for end-users in various office and courtroom environments.
- Perform field service for hardware upgrades and emergency technical interventions.
- Respond effectively to unplanned events such as system failures or natural disasters.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices.

- Minimum 2 years of experience in an enterprise IT environment.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Logical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven ability to install, configure, repair, and maintain computer hardware.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of computer networking principles.
- Familiarity with digital audio recording equipment.
- Understanding of user account management in an Active Directory environment.
Additional Requirements
- Must be a current Wisconsin resident.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively (25-50% of the time) with occasional overnight stays.
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 75 lbs.
- Mileage reimbursement provided for personal vehicle use.
Education
- Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
