Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Collaborating closely with UX designers, architects, and product managers to design and develop secure, reliable, and scalable software.
  • Developing automation scripts for infrastructure, monitoring, and comprehensive testing (including chaos engineering) to ensure robust production systems.
  • Utilizing your deep AWS knowledge to build and maintain our API-driven, microservices-based cloud infrastructure.
  • Working with other IT teams to execute strategic initiatives like cloud migrations.
  • Proactively identifying and resolving security vulnerabilities in code.
  • Developing and championing reusable technical solutions across our technology portfolio.
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance our products and create exceptional user experiences.
  • Investigating and providing solutions for critical technical issues.
  • Providing ongoing support for production applications.
  • Continuously monitoring and optimizing the performance and capacity of our systems.
  • Leading the triage and resolution of high-priority incidents.
  • Actively participating in agile learning and mentoring team members in development best practices.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • 3-5 years of practical experience in Software Engineering or a related technical role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in relevant technologies and programming languages (see detailed list below).
  • Strong experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices in an enterprise setting.
  • Hands-on experience developing software within AWS or another major enterprise cloud environment.
  • Extensive back-end development experience, including:
    • Proficiency in Functional Programming (ideally Java). Experience with Java, Python, Spring Framework, Microservices, and API development.
    • Solid understanding of AWS services, relational and NoSQL databases, caching mechanisms, storage solutions, scaling techniques, load balancing, CDNs, and networking principles.
    • Experience in architecting, developing, and supporting RESTful and WebSocket APIs.
    • 3-5 years of development experience with Java and SpringBoot.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of n-tier web application architectures, including web servers (Apache), application servers (IBM WebSphere, Tomcat, Weblogic), databases (Oracle, MySQL), and AWS infrastructure.
    • Experience working with containers and managed orchestration platforms (Kubernetes/OpenShift) in the cloud (e.g., AWS EKS, Red Hat OpenShift).
    • Experience in deploying and leveraging a wide range of AWS services (Lambda, CloudWatch, DynamoDB, Route53, etc.).
    • Proficiency with version control systems (Git) and automated deployment pipelines (Jenkins).
    • Experience in maintaining and modernizing PAAS applications (on-premise and internal) for migration to AWS.
    • Working knowledge of MQ technologies such as Kafka and Active MQ.
    • Familiarity with JBOSS and Websphere.
    • A strong grasp of the Software Development Lifecycle, CI/CD pipelines, and Test-Driven Development.
    • A foundational understanding of application security principles and 12-factor application development.
    • Experience with source control, build tools, and Git (GitHub, Bitbucket, or similar).
