We're seeking someone to join our Data Analytics, Visualization & Business Intelligence global team as a Data & Analytics Engineer in TEDRA super Department to be responsible for providing complex data analytics solutions for users across Fixed Income and Equities.
In the Technology division, we leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power our Firm, enabling our clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of our communities. This is a Data Analytics Engineer position within Institutional Securities Tech, which is part of the job family responsible for providing specialist data analysis and expertise that drive decision-making and business insights as well as crafting data pipelines, implementing data models, and optimizing data processes for improved data accuracy and accessibility, including applying machine learning and AI-based techniques.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 and $165,000 per year for an Associate at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.

What you'll do in the role:
- Work with key stakeholders across different business areas such as Sales and Trading, Finance Controllers, Operations to discuss requirements for new reporting or business intelligence applications
- Work on BI analytics and visualization solution using tools such as Business Objects, PowerBI and Tableau
- Drive key regulatory reporting initiatives (i.e. Volcker Metrics, Market Access Rule, Data Inquiries)
- Partner with Business Analysts to on-board/analyze new applications/flow into the different systems
- Investigate innovative solutions and design them, while collaborating with partner teams throughout IT
- Implement complex reports, data extracts to give the business transparency on any trade related activities.
- Direct business support and some production support, including data issue investigation and performance tuning
What you'll bring to the role:
- At least 4 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
- Strong analytical skill and documentation skills
- Strong Database skills with SQL, such as DB2, Sybase, Greenplum, Snowflake
- Strong BI Analytics skills such as SAP Business Objects, Tableau or other similar report development technologies, in creating accurate and professional reports
- Strong data manipulation and data reconciliation skills using programming language, such as Python
- Solid communication skills & excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to process information, translate into plans and present summaries to stakeholders.
- Experienced understanding of business line and discipline. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
