YugabyteDB Lead

; Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced YugabyteDB Lead to drive the end-to-end production deployment and operationalization of YugabyteDB as a distributed, transactional data store. This role involves the build-out of a three-region cluster (2 in Azure, 1 on-prem), replacing Cassandra, and supporting future data domains such as money movement, payments, and communications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in production-grade YugabyteDB implementations, cloud infrastructure automation, and collaborative experience across application and infrastructure teams.

; Job Responsibilities: Lead the design and implementation of YugabyteDB clusters in production environmentsDefine and configure replication factors, consistency levels, sharding, and fault domainsSupport high availability and multi-region deployments (3-region cluster setup already defined)Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform (IaC)Integrate schema changes and infrastructure automation into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOpsDevelop monitoring and alerting solutions for cluster health, performance, and storageCollaborate with cloud and application development teams to align on performance and data access patternsDocument architecture, decisions, configurations, and operational proceduresGuide and mentor internal team members to build knowledge in YugabyteDB and distributed systems

; Required Skills: Proven hands-on experience in YugabyteDB production-level deployment and operationsDeep understanding of distributed databases and transactional data storesStrong experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code toolsProficiency in CI/CD practices, preferably with Azure DevOpsExpertise in cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS or Google Cloud Platform acceptable)Experience in data migration strategies and implementationKnowledge of replication, sharding, fault tolerance, and consistency modelsStrong monitoring and performance tuning experience (query optimization, storage utilization, etc.)Excellent documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
