Lead/Senior Process Engineer (Product Lifecycle Proc Engrg)

Boeing Defense & Space (BDS) is hiring a Lead or Senior Process Engineer to join the Patriot Advanced Capability 3 (PAC-3) team located in Huntsville, AL. This position will support the production rate increase and advanced technology upgrade activities. This role will be involved in production support activities.

Boeing Huntsville has multi-year contracts to develop, manufacture, and test the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) missile seeker and future improvements. These contracts are driving significant, long-term growth for the PAC-3 engineering team on the Huntsville campus.

To excel in this role, you should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with a deep understanding of engineering design and manufacturing processes. You should also have a proven track record of successfully leading process improvement initiatives and driving positive change within a team.

Shift Work Statement: This position is for A (1st) Shift. (M-Th; 4x10)

Position Responsibilities:
  • Optimize, enhance, and grow our capabilities at the Boeing PAC-3 program
  • Analyze engineering design, manufacturing, and production support requirements
  • Apply industry-standard analysis methods and techniques to continuously improve and optimize solutions for complex engineering and manufacturing processes throughout the value stream
  • Improve existing processes and define processes for new tool technologies

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires ship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 8+ years of technical leadership and experience in the Electronics Manufacturing / PCB Assembly industry
  • 8+ years of experience working with Quality Standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 14000
  • 8+ years of experience reading engineering blueprints/drawings
  • 8+ years of experience in CCA (Circuit Card Assembly) machine programming / CAD

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Extensive knowledge in electro-mechanical assembly processes: SMT, Reflow, AOI/AXI, Wash, Conformal Coat, Mechanical Assembly, and Test
  • Advanced troubleshooting, prioritization, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experienced in DFM, DOE, PFMEA, and 8D practices and theory
  • Proficient in Product Data Management (PDM), Bill of Materials, (BOM), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and ERP/MRP systems
  • Familiar in the application / deployment of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) or AS9145 within organizations
  • Ability to design fixtures and tooling in a manufacturing environment
  • Six-Sigma Green or Black Belt Certified
  • Experience in the aerospace industry
  • Experience in leading and integrating process improvement initiatives
  • Knowledge and application of Project Management
  • In-depth understanding of engineering design and manufacturing processes
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Typical Education/Experience:
  • Level 4: 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
  • Level 5: 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience

Lead (Level 4): $108,800 - $147,200

Senior (Level 5): $135,150 - $182,850
