Job Details
Workday Security Administrator
- Location: Remote
- Position Type: Contract
- Contract Duration : Short Term : 3 Months
- Experience: 6+ Years (Minimum 2+ Years with Workday Security)
- We are seeking an experienced Workday Security Administrator to support ongoing enhancements, role management, and compliance within the Workday HCM platform. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise in configuring and maintaining security frameworks, ensuring appropriate access controls, and supporting audits and governance requirements.
This role requires close collaboration with HR, IT, and compliance teams to ensure a secure, well-documented, and compliant Workday environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Workday security roles, including domain and business process security policiesManage user-based and role-based security groups (UBSGs, RBSGs)Perform regular access reviews, security audits, and SoD (Segregation of Duties) validations
- Analyze and resolve security access issues in collaboration with stakeholders
- Document all changes to Workday security roles and provide support for internal and external audits
- Evaluate the impact of Workday releases/updates on security configurations
- Partner with cross-functional teams to implement changes aligned with compliance and security policies
- Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience with Workday Security
- Strong understanding of:
Domain Security Policies
Business Process Security Policies
User-Based and Role-Based Security Groups (UBSGs, RBSGs) - Experience working across multiple Workday HCM modules (e.g., Core HCM, Talent, Absence)
- Familiarity with user provisioning/de-provisioning workflows
- Experience conducting security audits, access reviews, and SoD checks
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve security-related incidents
- Strong knowledge of Workday release management and update evaluation
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
- Clear and consistent documentation practices
- Workday certification(s) in Security or HCM
- Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., healthcare, finance, or higher education)
- Knowledge of integration security, EIBs, or Studio is a plus
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as SOX, HIPAA, or GDPR
