Position Summary:
The Senior Solutions Engineer is responsible for leading the LED proposal design, implementation, and vendor selection for large scale deployment projects in the Display Division.
Role and Responsibilities
- Work with 3P vendors to design and configure end customer solution
- Manage pre-sales installation vendor activities including site surveys, Requests for Quotes, 3rd Party manufacturing
- Work with external vendors to provide preliminary and detailed estimates for design/build and to bid/build LED displays.
- Ability to maintain historical data to improve estimates.
- Manage all pre-bid project through Project Management software
- Manage the subcontractor/vendor bidding process.
- Recruit new external vendors to increase vendor cost efficiency
- Keen focus on improving DBE/MBE vendor network for D&E
- Provide accurate and competitive cost estimates, techniques and timelines for the installation process.
- Evaluate specifications, including sketches, construction documents, electrical plans, and/or renderings to estimate accurate labor and material costs for installation of our LED/LFD signage and systems for new and existing construction.
- Develop and maintain subcontractor and vendor bids.
- Collection of all necessary information to prepare estimates.
- Collaborate with customers and project management, subcontractors, engineering and vendors to determine the appropriate methods for installation that will optimize costs, quality, scheduling.
- Coordinate with project management to prepare plans for project, ensure installations are executed according to specifications
- Reduce installation costs and improve functionality, reliability, quality and customer satisfaction by collaborating with engineering and manufacturing.
- Project implementation support (ensuring smooth handoff to Project Manager)
- Perform internal reviews to establish an accurate and competitive bidding process.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Interact with internal and external personnel on significant matters.
- Coordinate the development of a successful bid strategy.
- Proficient with industry standard tools included MS Office, Salesforce, AutoCAD (or similar).
- Capability to take initiative and attain solutions while coordinating with internal and external clients.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Highly motivated with strong organizational skills and customer focus.
- Self-motivated and goal oriented.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- 8 years' experience providing conceptual and detailed estimates for electrical, mechanical and structural elements for LED displays and LFD displays.
- 8 years' experience in outdoor electric sign installation and project management.
- 5 years' experience managing vendor performance for surveying, estimating and installing outdoor signs, LED and LFD displays.
- Ability to work independently and travel for assignments as needed (up to 25% of the time).
