Job Description

We are seeking a Jr. Data Engineer to support the development of data pipelines and integration solutions across cloud and on-premises environments. In this role, you will collaborate with senior data engineers, data architects, application development teams, and analytics teams to ensure smooth data flows between applications, data warehouses, and third-party systems.

This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level candidate eager to gain hands-on experience in data engineering. The ideal candidate has strong SQL skills and some experience with ETL tools and cloud platforms, and is passionate about learning and contributing to data-driven projects in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior engineers and architects to design, build, and test data pipelines and interfaces.

  • Translate business requirements into data interfaces, APIs, and ETL processes.

  • Support integration of data across applications, warehouses, and external systems.

  • Develop SQL queries, stored procedures, and transformations for data modeling and integration.

  • Contribute to ETL migration projects and assist in data platform enhancements.

  • Ensure data flows meet governance and quality standards.

Required Experience/Skills

  • 1–2 years of experience with Matillion ETL and Snowflake (as a target platform).

  • Strong knowledge of SQL and stored procedures.

  • Experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake preferred).

  • Understanding of ETL processes for data integration and transformation.

  • Familiarity with data virtualization tools (TIBCO DV preferred).

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with ETL migration projects.

  • Knowledge of healthcare insurance domain.

  • Exposure to NoSQL databases and T-SQL.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related technical field.

Pay & Benefits Summary

  • Pay Rate: $25 - $30/hour

  • Employment Type: W2 Contract

  • 40 hours per week

  • Potential for extension beyond initial 12-month contract
