Job Description:
We're searching for a skilled IT Project Manager with a minimum of 7 years of project management experience to lead critical Medicaid IT initiatives in Columbia, SC. This role is essential for driving complex projects from conception through implementation, ensuring alignment with state and federal regulations, particularly those related to MITA (Medicaid Information Technology Architecture).
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the full SDLC for complex Medicaid IT projects, ensuring on-time, within-budget, and high-quality delivery.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Serve as the primary point of contact, facilitating communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams, stakeholders, vendors, and state agencies.
- Ensure all project activities and deliverables comply with Medicaid program requirements and MITA guidelines.
- Proactively identify, track, and mitigate project risks and issues, developing effective resolution strategies.
- Monitor project progress, prepare status reports, and present updates to senior management and key stakeholders.
- Manage project budgets, tracking expenditures and ensuring financial accountability.
- Oversee vendor relationships and contracts, ensuring adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) and project requirements.
- Implement and adapt project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) as appropriate for project needs.
- Foster a collaborative team environment, providing guidance and support to project team members.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Active PMP Certifications
- Minimum of 7 years of proven IT Project Management experience.
- Extensive experience managing projects across the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Demonstrable experience with Medicaid IT projects or similar large-scale government healthcare systems.
- Strong understanding of MITA (Medicaid Information Technology Architecture) principles and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana) and methodologies.
- Exceptional leadership, communication (written and verbal), negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple dependencies and stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to issue resolution.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with Medicaid systems or state government IT projects.
