Description:

We're looking for an experienced .NET Developer to work on a complex internal application composed of an ASP.NET MVC frontend and numerous background jobs and services. Key responsibilities of the role include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. This role goes beyond standard web development - youll work with distributed systems, high-throughput messaging, and search and big data tools. Youll work across the stack, from C# and SQL to Kafka, Redis, SOLR, and HBase, on a complex internal application with a mix of modern and legacy components and multiple integrations via Web APIs and Message Queues. Youll be expected to build resilient, self-healing features that gracefully handle intermittent failures. Front-end work includes maintaining and improving functionality built with ASP.NET MVC, jQuery, ES6, and Bootstrap.

Responsibilities
Participate in story refinement, spikes, code reviews, testing, and secure development practices.
Develop and maintain features using .NET / C# and ASP.NET MVC.
Maintain and extend UI components using jQuery and JavaScript ES6.
Implement and tune full-text search via SOLR Integration.
Publish and consume messages via Apache Kafka Integrations.
Integrate with external systems via RESTful Web APIs.
Integrate with Redis and HBase in a distributed architecture.
Build backend services and background jobs (scheduled, event-driven, or long-running).
Write and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures for relational MS SQL databases.
Diagnose and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks across the stack.
Required Skills:
Deep knowledge of .NET C# 6+ and ASP.NET MVC.
Hands-on experience with Kafka, Redis, and SOLR or Elasticsearch.
Hands-on experience with HBase or similar NoSQL data store.
Solid JavaScript skills, including ES6+ features.
Solid experience in designing and implementing high volume, event-based functionality.
Solid experience integrating with external applications using WebAPIs and Messaging.
Solid experience implementing resilient services with retry logic, timeouts, and error handling.
Solid experience with logging frameworks, including log shipping to Splunk and application observability.
Strong understanding of unit testing frameworks, TDD, CI, IoC.
Strong knowledge of SQL Server databases.
Strong Git skills.
Able to work independently to refactor and create unit tests for legacy code.
Solid verbal and written ability to communicate with technical and non-technical cross-functional teams.

Desired/Bonus Skills
Experience using Dynatrace, Elastic APM, or other application performance management tools.
Experience with libraries such as Polly, Hangfire, or MassTransit for retries, scheduling, or service orchestration.
Experience with cyber security or vulnerability management related workflows/solutions/implementation.
Experience with ServiceNow Integrations - potential future requirement.
