iSphere, an IT recruiting firm in Houston, TX, is seeking a highly skilled Senior-Level Software and Reporting Developer to join our team for an on-going, long-term opportunity in the Houston area. This position offers an opportunity to work with enterprise-level software applications, databases, and reporting.
Qualifications:
- BS in Computer Science or related area, or equivalent professional experience
- 5+ years of software and reporting development experience
- Senior-level working knowledge of MS SQL/Transact-SQL is required
- Advanced experience with ASP.net, C#, VB.net, SSRS, and Visual Studio desired
- Ability to develop and maintain systems documentation and end user manuals
- Experience with various change and control management software
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and results-oriented mindset
- Experience with student information systems is a plus
Responsibilities:
- Proficient in MS SQL server databases and able to create tables, views, procedures, functions, SSIS packages, and jobs
- Develop complex reports with multiple data connections to various data source types
- Work with district departments and campuses to gather student application specifications and develop solutions
- Function as project lead, collecting requirements, establishing timelines, and coordinating tasks and team members
- Cross-train within the SIS group to ensure appropriate backups are in place
- Create, maintain, and update technical manuals and documentation
- Serve as a database administrator, ensuring integrity control and data security
- Identify and recommend solutions for application-related problems
- Respond to user requests for assistance and provide training on system usage
- Communicate with vendors to resolve system issues
- Other duties as assigned
