Position Overview :

  • A Workday HR/Payroll Test Lead is responsible for overseeing the testing process during a Workday HR/Payroll implementation, upgrade, or enhancement project. They develop test strategies, create test plans, coordinate testing efforts, direct and participation in creation of test scripts and ensure the system meets business requirements.
  • The role involves leading a team of testers, managing test scripts, executing test scenarios, and reporting defects. Strong collaboration with stakeholders, functional consultants, and technical teams is essential to ensure a smooth deployment.

Position General Duties And Tasks

  • 8+ years' experience with testing of Workday HR/Payroll or other cloud HR/Payroll platforms
  • 5+ years' experience with Workday
  • To thrive as a Workday HR/Payroll Test Lead, you need expertise in software testing methodologies, Workday HR/Payroll functional knowledge, and experience in end-to-end testing of enterprise systems.
  • Familiarity with test management tools (such as HP ALM or Jira), automated testing frameworks, and Workday certification or similar credentials are highly valued. Leadership, excellent communication, and strong problem-solving abilities distinguish top performers in this position.
  • These skills ensure effective test planning, team coordination, and successful delivery of high-quality Workday implementations.
  • As a Workday Test Lead, your primary responsibilities include developing and overseeing the test strategy, creating test plans and scripts, coordinating test execution, and managing defect tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
  • You will work closely with functional consultants, developers, business stakeholders, and end-users to ensure test coverage and quality requirements are met. Additionally, you'll mentor junior testers and may be involved in automating regression testing for future releases.
