Seeking an experienced and highly competent Senior Level COBOL Software Engineer/Developer to work on Enhancement, New Development, & Production Support Projects for a mission critical Legacy Application. Mainframe/COBOL Legacy application; approx. 50+ years old with Online and Batch Programs. The ideal candidate is independent, very organized, with a keen sense of detail and a natural ability to develop solutions. Candidate performs superbly under pressure and can balance a number of disparate projects. The Software Engineer must deliver their project on time and with high quality, according to defined processes. Experience with Agile methodology is a must. Difficult situations and business partner conversations must be handled tactfully. Both the Business and the Team must like you, trust you, and feel comfortable around you.



Skills RequiredCOBOL Expert, JCL, VSAM, DB2, IMS (Strong IMS - Online and Batch)IBM Utilities (file manager, IEB GENER), ENDEVOR.Excellent/Outstanding Communications Skills (verbal and written)Strict Process Discipline with exposure to Agile TechniquesLogical/Critical Thinker.Superb documentation SkillsStrong ability to drive requirements gathering process with Business PartnersSuperior Technical competency with great initiativeStrong can-do attitude with a natural ability to understand a complex Application and interconnections with upstream and downstream Applications.



Experience Required10+ years of advanced experience working on a complex Legacy Applications

Experience Preferred:Experience with Agile Process and Rally

Education RequiredBA+ in Computer Science or related industry
