This Position reports to:
Field Service Manager

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and re-pair of ABB Medium Voltage (MV) Variable Frequency Drives (VFD).
  • Investigate problems and independently initiate effective measures for their solution.
  • Coordinate activities with related groups to most efficiently achieve objectives to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Participate proactively in contributing feedback regarding product quality issues to reduce warranty costs.
  • Submit completed, detailed, and comprehensive service reports in a timely manner and follows up when needed.

Qualifications
  • Associate degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR High school diploma/GED and 7 years of relevant experience OR a combination of 7 years of military education/experience required. Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field and 3 years of relevant experience preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience in installing, testing, repairing or troubleshooting AC/DC drive systems and their associated controls.
  • Ability to interpret circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, technical manuals, and technical specifications.
  • Willing to provide technical support during evenings and weekends on a rotating schedule.
  • Candidate must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the United States.
  • Ability to travel up to 80% or more of the time and maintain a valid driver's license
