Senior Economist Quantitative Modeler REMOTE
MUST:
Experienced Senior Economist - Quantitative Modeler
Preferred PhD in Economics, Statistics, or a similar quantitative field plus minimum 6 years' experience.
Master's degree with minimum 12 years' experience may be considered in lieu of PhD.
Expertise in applying econometric techniques to build and evaluate models, especially focused on default, prepayment and loss mitigation outcomes for mortgage loan portfolios.
Experience with model development, validation/assessment and model use with large financial companies or federal agencies.
Extensive hands-on statistical programming experience.
Advanced programming skills in R or Python.
Experience and/or demonstrated ability to contribute to federal proposal writing.
Exceptional technical writing abilities to communicate complex concepts clearly.
Ability and demonstrated experience connecting/liaising econometric analysis with software engineering (i.e., computational hardware, software programs and algorithms).
DUTIES:
Will lead model development and evaluation of sophisticated financial models.
Identify and implement ideas to enhance modeling and analytical capabilities both as a hands-on individual contributor and as an internal and external advocate of best practices.
With much of the work at federal agencies, the successful candidate will develop strategies to analyze and interpret model outputs in accordance with public-sector business objectives
