Job Title: DevOps Engineer 4
Client: Caterpillar
Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid 1-3 days onsite per week; must be onsite from Day 1)
Duration: 12 Months
Visa: No OPT, CPT and H1's
Focus: D365 cloud configuration/support ,GitHub (Actions, Admin, Advanced Security), Azure DevOps, CI/CD consulting, Terraform, Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Expectations: Design & support pipelines, consult with developers on builds, code security, and release workflows.
Education & Experience Requirements:
Bachelor s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience
Without a degree: 12+ years of experience required
Technical Skills Required:
Experience with IaC and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps
Strong hands-on knowledge of Terraform
Technical Skills Desired:
Experience managing Azure, Entra ID, and Power Platform through CLI, portals, or CI/CD
Soft Skills:
Comfortable working in R&D-driven environments
Open to taking on administrative or support-related tasks as needed
Job Overview:
This role involves providing technical and application leadership to support the development, integration, and implementation of major IT systems and infrastructure components. Responsibilities include:
Managing and monitoring cloud environments (e.g., spinning up VMs or services)
Supporting code releases and merges across QA, staging, and production environments in Azure regions
Troubleshooting and debugging development issues
Collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure secure, scalable, and maintainable infrastructure
Leading development efforts aligned with business goals while maintaining best practices and high-quality standards
Key Responsibilities:
Design, support, and enhance CI/CD pipelines
Serve as a consultant to developers on build automation, security, and release workflows
Manage developer tools like GitHub, Azure DevOps, and JFrog Artifactory
Support application development and integration across cloud, mobile, and distributed systems
Peer-review technical documents (CI/CD, release processes, SDLC artifacts)
Participate in planning, integrated testing, and acceptance testing
Respond to off-hours and weekend support if needed
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, cloud engineers, and security professionals
Team Environment:
The DevOps team has 13 members and supports a new Dynamics 365 project involving over 60 team members
Also supports existing enterprise applications
Highly collaborative, cross-functional, and expects team members to be proactive, adaptable, and continuous learners
Work Environment:
Hybrid role (1 3 days in-office in Chicago per week) Onsite presence from Day 1 is mandatory
