ClearanceJobs is assisting our Government Contracting client with their search for a Project Manager to work onsite in Bayou La Batre, AL.
This is a contract to hire position, with the first 9 months of employment on contract basis before being converted to full-time employee of the prime contractor.
Summary: Oversee all contractor work performed under the Waterways Commerce Cutter (WCC) Project Resident Office (PRO) contract. Serve as the primary point of contact for government stakeholders, ensuring contract compliance and effective coordination of project management support services. The successful candidate will have strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the single point of contact for the Contracting Officer (KO), Contract Specialist (KS), Contracting Officer Representative (COR), and PRO Executive Director (XD).
- Maintain full authority over contract performance and ensure continuity of service.
- Provide daily administrative support including documentation management, communications, task tracking, preparation of briefings, meeting facilitation, and other related project oversight functions.
- Develop and generate PowerPoint presentations, emails, white papers, spreadsheets, graphs, program documentation, and record meeting notes and action items.
- Compile, edit, and present a variety of recurring and special reports using government-provided templates.
- Research, assemble, and summarize materials related to WCC PRO functions; validate conflicting information and provide comprehensive reports.
- Receive and distribute incoming correspondence; establish suspense controls and maintain logs to ensure timely responses.
- Prepare executive and staff-level correspondence and non-technical reports with adherence to proper formatting, grammar, and background context.
- Utilize Microsoft 365 and SharePoint to manage documentation and communications.
- Perform data review, compile statistics, and analyze workflow to recommend improvements for office efficiency.
- Support the administration, collection, and submission of frequent data calls (minimum of 40 data calls per hull per year) with turnaround times ranging from 24 hours to under 4 hours.
- Ensure all documentation and correspondence complies with COMDTINST M5216.4 standards.
- Research and recommend communication tools and products aligned with key project milestones and events (e.g., keel laying, christenings, launches).
- Assist with coordination of special programs and media events, including responding to media queries and maintaining media history files.
- Monitor and report discrepancies in the WCC production contractor s Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) using Primavera on a weekly basis.
- Maintain the WCC PRO IMS to document internal events and milestones, updating bi-monthly or as needed.
Required:
- Bachelor s Degree
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, including at least four (4) years in a project management role.
- Knowledge of ship construction and maritime industry practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, and Excel.
- Proficiency with Primavera project management software.
