GIS Analyst Consultant

Location: Fully Remote
Duration: 12-month contract (possibility for extension)

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled GIS Analyst (Consultant) to support the development, maintenance, and optimization of geographic information systems (GIS) within an enterprise environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on experience with ESRI s ArcGIS Maps SDK, data visualization, and scripting to design, enhance, and manage GIS applications and databases.

This role offers the opportunity to work remotely while contributing to impactful geospatial projects that support data-driven decision-making.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance GIS databases, applications, and mapping solutions.

  • Analyze, interpret, and visualize spatial data to support organizational objectives.

  • Design and implement GIS workflows that meet user requirements and improve operational efficiency.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into GIS solutions.

  • Manage GIS-related projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with standards.

  • Maintain ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS Enterprise environments, ensuring performance, security, and reliability.

  • Utilize scripting and programming languages to automate GIS processes and enhance system functionality.


Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor s degree in Geography, Geospatial Science, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum 3+ years of professional experience in GIS development and maintenance.

  • Technical Expertise:

    • 3+ years working with ESRI s ArcGIS Maps SDK.

    • 3+ years of scripting and development using Python, HTML, CSS, JQuery, Bootstrap, and C#.

    • 3+ years of experience with SQL databases, ArcGIS Server Administration, and ArcGIS Enterprise.

    • Strong understanding of GIS software standards, data modeling, and spatial analysis techniques.

  • Ability to analyze user requirements, design custom solutions, and manage GIS projects effectively.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of ArcGIS Server infrastructure and ArcGIS Enterprise Portal maintenance.

  • Experience supporting enterprise GIS environments in government or large organizations.

Work Environment

  • Remote position (must reside in SC, GA, NC, or TN for surety of ONSITE presence).
