Job Title: Sr. SAP FICO Consultant (only local to TX)
Type of hire: 12+ Months
Location: Houston, TX (onsite)
Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive SAP FICO Consultant to support and enhance our Finance operations within SAP S/4HANA, with a specific emphasis on Group Reporting and core financial accounting processes. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise across SAP FICO modules and possess a solid background in accounting and financial operations, including journal workflows, bank integrations, intercompany transactions, and financial close activities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support the implementation, configuration, and optimization of SAP FICO modules (GL, AP, AR, AA, CO-PA, CO-PC, etc.).
Design and deploy consolidated financial reporting structures using SAP Group Reporting within S/4HANA.
Collaborate with finance teams to ensure accurate data mapping, intercompany eliminations, and reporting hierarchies.
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close processes.
Monitor and troubleshoot issues related to manual journal entry workflows, payment proposal processing, and master data integrity.
Manage bank integration processes using SFTP and assist with issue resolution and vendor-related failures.
Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable SAP FICO solutions.
Coordinate configuration changes in collaboration with technical teams; serve as a liaison between finance and IT.
Prepare business requirement documents (BRDs) and support testing and validation during finance-related projects.
Provide end-user training and documentation for new solutions and processes.
Communicate and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams, including SAP MM, SD, and PP.
Required Qualifications
13+ years of hands-on experience in SAP FICO implementations and/or production support.
6+ years of experience with S/4HANA environment. Direct experience with SAP Group Reporting in ECC and S/4HANA
Proven experience supporting financial consolidation and reporting processes in SAP.
Strong understanding of:
o Financial close and period-end processes
o Journal entry workflows and approvals
o Bank integration (SFTP, payment proposals)
o Intercompany transactions
Solid grounding in financial accounting principles and practices.
Ability to assess and direct SAP configuration changes (though hands-on config is not required).
Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., JIRA) and transport/change management processes.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills with a strong customer-service mindset.
Ability to work full-time onsite in Houston, TX is preference.
