Job Description:

Shield AI is redefining autonomous aviation with cutting-edge AI and GPS/RF-denied navigation technologies. Now, we're building a next-generation aircraft like no other-one that will push the boundaries of innovation and performance.

We're looking for a Senior Director of Avionics to take ownership of all aspects of the avionics system and lead our engineering team from concept to production. What you'll do:

• Define and execute the vision of our next generation aircraft avionics from concept through production
• Build, lead, and mentor a world-class avionics engineering team
• Drive the design of custom avionics hardware and support equipment
• Integrate off-the-shelf hardware and drive the roadmap for future vertical integration
• Establish and enforce appropriate design processes
• Maintain technical excellence-implement rigorous design processes and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Ensure system performance meets requirements and design expectations
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Shield's core teams, such as engineering, production, supply chain, business development, and program management
• Engage with external partners - coordinate with vendors and engineering teams as needed
• Work in a fast-paced environment

Required qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience as an Electrical Engineer or a related field
• 5+ years of leadership experience
• Strong technical fundamentals
• Experience with custom electronics design and system level integration
• Have worked on large platforms, such as aircraft, rockets, satellites, automotive, etc.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

$241,594 - $362,390 a year
