Job Summary
We are seeking a Network Field Technician to support an in-flight SD-WAN and network refresh initiative across approximately 18 19 regional locations. This role is highly hands-on and field-focused, providing boots-on-the-ground support for network hardware deployments, replacements, and basic configurations.
This is not an architecture or design role. The ideal candidate is someone comfortable working independently, traveling to sites, and handling day-to-day network installation and support tasks with minimal oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Travel to regional sites to perform network hardware installations and replacements
Replace and deploy:
oNetwork switches (typically 36 40 port)
oWireless access points
Perform basic setup and configuration of network devices
Support Cisco-based SD-WAN (Viptela) environments at a field level
Conduct site visits to:
oAssess current network conditions
oVerify equipment status
oTroubleshoot basic connectivity issues
Work closely with the Network Infrastructure team to execute assigned tasks
Handle ad-hoc / miscellaneous network support tasks as needed
Provide clear updates and documentation after site visits

Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela)
Cisco wireless infrastructure
Switches, access points, and related network hardware
Travel Expectations
Springfield, PA is the home base
Regional travel includes 18 locations such as:
oFrederick, MD
oBaltimore, MD
oShamokin, PA
oPittsburgh, PA
Most travel is local/regional; farther sites may require overnight stays (1 2 nights)
Travel to distant locations expected 1 2 times
All travel expenses are reimbursed
Some work may be performed remotely when appropriate
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience preferred
oCandidates with less experience will be considered if they have service provider or MSP background
Hands-on experience with:
oNetwork switch and access point installation
oBasic network configuration and troubleshooting
Comfort working independently in field environments
Willingness and ability to travel regionally
Strong reliability and ability to follow direction without close supervision
Nice to Have
Previous experience supporting SD-WAN deployments
Cisco hardware exposure (routing, switching, wireless)
Experience supporting multi-site environments
