The Opportunity:

Booz Allen is seeking an experienced Technical Engineer to support the client's materiel readiness efforts. As the assigned Technical Engineer for this client, you will provide comprehensive engineering design and reengineering support to the client by analyzing, designing, and developing mechanical components and systems for Marine Corps equipment. You will be responsible for reverse engineering obsolete parts, creating improved designs, and ensuring all modifications meet military specifications while enhancing operational readiness and sustainment capabilities.

You Have:

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and engineering, including reverse engineering and component analysis, and successful project completion
• Experience with FEA Sof tware, such as ANSYS or SolidWorks Simulation, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing principles
• Knowledge of 3D modeling sof tware, such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor, and mechanics, materials science, and manufacturing processes, and machining, welding, casting and fabrication processes
• Knowledge of Military Systems, communications and electronics systems, power generation and distribution systems, and Materials and Processes, including metallurgy and materials selection, heat treatment and surface finishing, and welding and joining processes
• Knowledge of Standards and Regulations, including military specifications and standards, ASME, ASTM and SAE standards, configuration and management processes, and quality assurance requirements
• Ability to gain access to and work in laboratories and testing facilities, or in an office environment with occasional shop floor and field work
• Ability to remain stationary at a computer workstation and move equipment and samples weighing up to 25lbs
• Ability to review detailed design work and perform component inspection as well as operate test equipment and measuring instruments
• Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree in an engineering field, such as mechanical engineering or manufacturing engineering

Nice If You Have:

• Experience with military processes and equipment
• Experience with additive manufacturing and rapid prototyping
• Experience with reliability engineering and RAMS analysis
• Knowledge of military specifications ( MIL-STDs ) and defense acquisition processes
• Knowledge of materials testing and qualification procedures
• Knowledge of military or aerospace applications
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects, and pay strict attention to detail
• Possession of excellent analytical and problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Possession of excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Master's degree in a related field

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
