POSITION SUMMARY

The Oracle Applications Database Administrator (Apps DBA) at SRNA will oversee the management and upkeep of the Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) application, along with associated technologies such as Oracle databases, middleware, and other relevant applications. The role involves ensuring that the applications and databases run smoothly, and issues are resolved in a timely manner. In this role the Apps DBA will work closely with the DBA manager and development teams to ensure that the application meets the organization's needs and requirements. This position requires providing on-call support for systems, proficiency in Linux and a comprehension of San Storage. Additionally, the role demands the capacity and willingness to acquire expertise in new technologies and provide support for them.

PRINCIPAL TASKS

1. Manage and Administer Oracle EBS, SOA applications and databases. Perform routine monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting of EBS environments to ensure optimal performance. Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of Oracle applications and databases. Adhere to the best business practices for Oracle and other systems. Manage and maintain security for the application and databases, including user management, access controls, and data encryption. Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to optimize queries, indexes, and overall system performance.

2. Perform code migration, cloning, patching activities. Provisioning of development and testing environments.. Work closely with development team to fine tune SQL and PL/SQL code. Collaborate with the development teams, system administrators, and other stakeholders in the design, development, testing, tuning and implementation of database applications.

3. Production support of applications and databases, patch installation, working service requests with Oracle. Respond promptly to incidents and service requests, diagnosing and resolving issues efficiently. Participate in Oon-callOn-call support to ensure the highest standards of availability, resilience, integrity, security and performance required by business. Provide technical support and guidance to end-users of the application and databases. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation. Keep up to date with the latest Oracle trends and technologies.

4. Backup and recovery; ensuring the database, application, and custom code are properly backed up and retained in accordance with our backup and retention policies. Management and maintenance of backups and recovery procedures, i.e., ensuring backups are taken in a timely manner. Testing of backups to ensure recovery is possible.

5. Regulatory compliance (assist with J-SOX, change management, and access management compliance). Provide system information as requested during audits. Enforce policies and procedures w.r.t. Oracle and other systems.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

WORK EXPERIENCE: Five or more years of overall experience, three or more (3+) years of current Oracle EBS Apps DBA (preferably R12.2), and five or more as Oracle core DBA.

SKILLS: Must be proficient in Oracle technologies i.e., ERP (EBS R12), 19c database, 12c Application Server and tools. Proficiency in LINUX/Unix operating systems as well as MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), Windows.

ACADEMIC/TRAINING: A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from an accredited college, IT Certifications (Oracle, UNIX/Linux), or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to stand, sit, move, and use fingers for extended periods of time. May require walking primarily on a level surface, reaching above shoulder heights and below the waist, as well as lifting up to 25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment is typical of an office environment where the air is controlled and kept at mild temperatures.
