Overview
Hekima is looking for a RHEL System Administrator to support a US Government department in its Enterprise IT as a Service (EITaaS) program. The candidate will join a team of admins responsible for the management and advanced troubleshooting of related issues in the SIPR environment.
On the EITaaS program, we will deliver enhanced capabilities and services to implement and operate an enterprise ITSM solution, enterprise service desk, endpoint management and security solution, as well as CONOCONUS field support and life cycle support for end user devices to enable the DAF to transition focus from IT operations to mission operations. Serve as a systems administrator for management and issues related to the RHEL servers or managed applications. In this role, you will be responsible for following approved SOPs for known issues, as well as dynamic troubleshooting of new issues as they are reported. This will regularly involve collaborating with other teams and stakeholders to properly identify issues, document, and test resolutions.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain RHEL systems in various environments (physical, virtual, cloud).
- Remediate issues related to failed patches or applications and conflicts related to patching.
- High level troubleshooting of common applications and their interactions with the underlying operating systems.
- Analyze day-to-day operations and write scripts to improve daily tasks.
- Providing O&M support for supported servers.
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Understanding of storage systems and backup solutions.
- Engage with engineering teams as necessary to field solutions.
- Track all relevant SLA/SLRs and provide reports as required.
- Collaborate with DAF enterprise and program security teams to ensure requirements are met.
- Communicate effectively and collaboratively with customers, stakeholders, and peers.
Required Experience
- Experience testing, deploying, and troubleshooting the installation of RHEL and third-party software updates.
- Demonstrated experience with planning, configuring, deploying, and implementing automated software and firmware patching, such as WSUS, SCCM, YUM, SolarWinds, etc. for heterogeneous operating systems environments (e.g., Microsoft Windows and Linux).
- Proficiency in RHEL installation, configuration, and maintenance of Red Hat Satellite Servers.
- Manage content views, activation keys, and subscriptions.
- Configure and maintain system groups and host collections.
- Set up and manage provisioning environments.
- Implement and maintain compliance policies.
- Monitor Satellite performance and troubleshoot issues.
- Automate Satellite tasks and its components up to date.
- Strong command-line skills and scripting abilities (Bash, Python).
- Knowledge of networking protocols and services (DNS, DHCP, HTTP/S, etc.).
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet).
- Experience managing RHEL servers in a DoD environment.
- Experience working in a secure location managing devices on a SIPR network.
- Familiarity with STIG requirements.
- Familiarity with ITILv4.
- Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodologies.
- Strong skills with MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Project, Visio) and SharePoint.

10+ Years of relevant experience (Bachelor s Degree in applicable field may be substituted for 5 years of experience)
